I started Accrue as a self-initiated project to explore the financial space and identify an opportunity beyond the features offered by everyday banking and investment products. After looking at products such as Itaú, Inter, and Wise, as well as discussions from real users and articles about personal finance, I wanted to explore a different question: what if a bank could help users understand the path from where they are today to where they want to be?

Financial information does not show the full picture.

Financial information does not show the full picture.

People can access more financial information than ever, but having access to data does not necessarily make the future easier to understand. Balances, expenses, savings, and investments often exist as separate pieces of information without showing how they connect over time.

Accrue explores a simple question: where is my current financial situation taking me? The goal was to turn scattered financial information into a clearer view of the future and help users understand how different financial decisions could change their trajectory.

One platform. Full visibility.

One platform. Full visibility.

Accrue connects the user's current financial situation with a projected financial trajectory. Instead of presenting data as separate balances, expenses, savings, and investments, the experience brings these elements together to help users understand how their financial history and current behavior may shape what comes next.

AI works quietly behind the experience to interpret this information and support personalized projections, explanations, and scenarios. It is not presented as a separate AI feature. The goal is to make complex financial information easier to understand, whether the user is planning for retirement, saving for a major purchase, or working toward another personal goal.

Finding a gap in everyday financial products.

Finding a gap in everyday financial products.

I started by exploring the problem space and reviewing how existing banking and investment products approach financial planning. From this research, I defined the opportunity around helping users understand their financial trajectory rather than simply tracking individual financial metrics.

I then structured the main user journeys, defined the product architecture, and designed the visual system across mobile and desktop. The Design System was developed alongside the product screens to keep the experience consistent as the interface became more complex.

Accrue brings together a complete banking and financial planning experience, from the initial financial setup to projections, scenarios, insights, and ongoing financial information.

The final concept includes a mobile-first experience and a desktop workspace for deeper analysis. As a conceptual project, it does not have live users or performance metrics, so the outcome is the complete product experience and the design system created to support it.

From everyday banking to long-term planning.

From everyday banking to long-term planning.

The final design brings together the main Accrue experience, from onboarding and financial setup to everyday financial overview, retirement planning, and scenario exploration.

Mobile is the primary product experience, while desktop provides a larger workspace for deeper financial analysis, comparison, and planning. Together, they create a consistent experience across the main ways users interact with their financial future.
